How it works
Tout à Louer connects people who own something with people who need it for a few days. Here is the journey, for renters and for owners.
I want to rent an item
- 1
I search
In the app or on this site, I find the item near me. Photos, price, deposit, reviews: everything is shown.
- 2
I request
I send the owner a request for my dates. We chat in the built-in messaging.
- 3
I pay securely
Once accepted, I pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (Stripe). I confirm the Swikly deposit hold: nothing is charged.
- 4
I pick up the item
At the meeting, we do a photo condition report in the app. It is the proof for everyone.
- 5
I return and review
Return condition report, then each of us leaves a review. Need more time? I request an extension in the app.
I want to rent out my items
- 1
I list for free
Photos, description, price per day (and weekend, week, month if I want), item value for the deposit. Three minutes is enough.
- 2
I verify my identity
To receive payments, I complete Stripe Identity and register my IBAN in a secure portal. My documents never go through Tout à Louer.
- 3
I accept requests
I get a notification for each request. I accept or decline, and chat in the messaging.
- 4
I hand over the item
Photo condition report at hand-over. The renter’s deposit is secured before they leave with the item.
- 5
I get paid
The rental amount, minus the 12% commission (minimum €1.50), is paid to my account after the rental.
How much does it cost?
- Sign-up and listings
- Free, for everyone.
- For owners
- 12% commission on each rental (minimum €1.50). You keep 88% of your price.
- For renters
- The owner’s price + service and security fees (Stripe payment, Swikly deposit handling) shown before paying.
- EXPERT and ELITE pros
- 0% commission on rentals. See the pro offer. →
What if something goes wrong?
Damage, delay, item not returned: report the issue in the app within 48 hours after the rental ends. The team reviews the condition reports and messages, then decides according to the dispute charter. The deposit is only charged after that decision. Dispute charter.
