Getting the check-in and check-out right
The photos and notes that protect owners and renters alike, and avoid 90% of disputes.
Why it matters
The condition report done in the app is the reference evidence in case of disagreement. Time-stamped and shared by both parties, it is what the team relies on to settle disputes.
At hand-over
Photograph the item from every angle in natural light. Zoom in on sensitive areas: screens, blades, cables, seams, wheels. Note existing flaws, even small ones. Check the item works in front of the other person (a drill that spins, a speaker that turns on).
Count the accessories: charger, cover, pegs, remote. Photograph them together.
At return
Take the same photos, in the same order. If something changed, say it right away in the chat: most situations are settled amicably when raised calmly.
If there is a problem
Report the dispute in the app within 48 hours after the rental ends, with your photos. The team answers according to the dispute charter and the deposit is only involved after its decision.
The list of photos to take
Overall view from the front, back and each side. Rating plate or serial number. Each accessory supplied, placed next to the item. Fragile areas: screen, blade, cable, seams, wheels, zips. The hour meter or fuel level for petrol machines. Ten sharp photos beat thirty blurry ones.
For machines and electrical equipment
Plug in or start the device in front of the other person. A pressure washer that builds pressure, a speaker that turns on and connects, a chainsaw that starts cold: thirty seconds that avoid the “it already didn’t work” at return. Note the fuel level or battery charge in the condition report.
After the return
Validate the return condition report in the app the same day. If you discover a problem later, you have 48 hours after the end of the rental to report a dispute: after that, the deposit is released. Keep exchanges in the app’s messaging rather than by text message: that is what the team reviews.
